HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

The big day has arrived! I'm so excited and I'm rushing about to and fro and probably not accomplishing much of anything. I'm juggling trying to get my altars decorated as well as watch some cool Halloween/spooky documentaries. And at the time of me writing this blog entry I've just realized that I've yet to bring in the mums and asters I will use as decorations as well. 

Halloween night itself is when I get my fun and party in. November 1st, All Saints' Day, is when I honor the saints and spirits that I work with. I give them treats and presents to let them know that I cherish our relationship and that I am thankful of the help they have given me over the past year as well as the future help they will also provide.  On November 2, All Souls' Day, I honor the ancestors, those who have come before me and those whom I have loved in life whom have now passed on to the other side. I will place offerings to them as well on my altars, including things that specific spirits like. For example, my grandfather passed away shortly before the holidays last year so I will include some peanuts for him as he love eating his peanuts. Another grandfather of mine loved chocolate cupcakes so of course he will get his. My friend who passed a few years back will get his pack of cigarettes and a Monster energy drink. I will even include some dog biscuits for some beloved pets. For my ancestors who have passed and whom I never knew in this life, I will give food, coffee, liquor and cigarettes, generic stuff that I know that most people from their time like. Candles and glasses of water are placed to help draw in the spirits and freshen them. 

Tomorrow I will be attending a Day of the Dead festival which I am really looking forward to. However, tonight it is time to party. My friend and I are planning to hit a couple of parties and events and we will both be dressing up in the Day of the Dead-style costumes.

Halloween Conjure Finds

Every year I give a reminder to my readers that Halloween-time is the perfect time to stock up on conjure supplies as most places will carry supplies that may be difficult to purchase throughout the year. One can easily find black and orange candles, brooms, skulls, bottles, and even altar decorations.

This year I found a few things from Walmart. I got a black, glass skull and skull candles.

The skull candles are a great find. They were only $4.88 plus tax and are far bigger than the skull candles sold in most occult shops. As you may know, skull candles are great for enemy work, work with the ancestors, as well as domination work.

Witch War - Lori Bruno Is Suing Christian Day

Lori Bruno is suing Christian Day over alleged ongoing harassment that has lasted the past three years. Both Lori Bruno and Christian Day are well known figures in the witchcraft community in Salem and New Orleans. Bruno and Day used to be friends and Bruno was the one time co-host of Day's blogtalkradio show, Hex Education. After a falling out, Bruno alleges that Day began to stalk her over the phone as well as harass her online. Day is not new to such accusations. Day has previously made comments on social media about wishing rape upon a woman.

Annual Halloween Sale At The Witch Shop

So yesterday was the annual Halloween sale at a local favorite witch shop. It's a great time to stock up on supplies and goodies. The way it works is that if you buy one item you get the second of equal or lesser value at half off. So lots of people will splurge on the annual Halloween sale. Additionally they have free food, door prizes, gifts with purchase, readings, and an on-site masseuse. In past years they also offered free classes, such as on candle magic. Unfortunately the classes seem to have stopped back in the 90s. I like to go and get my reading in around Halloween time because the veil between the living and the dead is believed to be the thinnest at this time.

The annual Halloween sale has a special place in my memory as I first visited this shop during such sale way back in the early 90s. I've been shopping there ever sense. It's a great place. If you are in the area do drop on by. You will love it. You will meet lots of interesting people and have fascinating conversations as well. Oh, and just so you know, similar sales take place on various other holidays as well.

Pagan Pride 2015

So I went out to support my pagan friends at OKC's Pagan Pride event. It was my first time going. I liked it. Lots of people dressed up as the typical witches. Seems like every other female was wearing a witch hat. Many of the men were dressed up in Celtic or Germanic gear. Unlike the women folk, I think most of the men seemed to be heathens, followers of the Germanic traditions.

Some of it was cheesy, which is to be expected. Nearly every belly dancer performing was rotund. I did pick up a set of runes and a bind rune amulet carved on a piece of deer's horn that I thought was cool. I have been reading about the Germanic heathen traditions after I've gotten hooked on the History Channel show, Vikings. There was a guy there that I previously got a rune reading from at a local psychic fair. His name was Russ, I believe. Anyway, he was giving a lecture on heathenism which I wanted to attend but didn't make in time.

The most interesting aspect of the event was when I stopped at a tent of an alleged "Voodoo Spiritualist", named either "Rev. Nightshade/Rev. Coyote, which is what he billed himself as. I quizzed him and determined he was not a real Voodoo practitioner but just worked with a few of the Loa. Anyway, the price on his readings he offered was quite reasonable, $10 a pop. So I paid for my friend and myself to get a reading with him. Let me tell you, that was the most interesting reading I have ever had. Of course he got some stuff wrong and said a lot of general stuff. However, he had a major hit that could not have been coincidence and it was something I desperately needed guidance on. He not only described the situation to a "T" but also provided the name of the individual involved. Now, this person's name is not common. So when he flat out blurted the name out and warned me about said individual, while describing the situation with specific details that where 100% correct, my jaw dropped and my eyes bugged out. It was probably the best reading I've ever had to date. I've mentioned that as a psychic myself that I don't read for myself because I fear being bias. So I seek out readers just like other people. I've had some okay readings and some crappy ones. This one was a shocker, probably because I entered without any preconceived notions of how it would be like.

It's That Time Of Year Again

As we near Halloween it seems I become barraged by self-styled witches who want to attack me for my blog entries.

I stand by my writings and I will not alter them to please people who have no true understanding of or education in history. By this I mean that Wicca and self-styled "traditional witchcraft" is completely modern and has no ties to any real practice of the ancient past. The accused witches of the witch hunts in the middle ages up through the 1700s were not pagans. They were not members of a secret underground pagan religion that survived the coming of Christianity. Some of the accused did indeed practice folk magic but it was Christian folk magic, not pagan. However, many of them didn't even practice that but were simply targeted for other reasons.

A while back I wrote that the "true witches" are the practitioners of Christian folk magic because they are the ones who have an actual craft and we know from history they were accused of being witches.

I love the following documentary as it touches on the fact that many of the accuses practiced Christian conjurations. It's just that the people in charge denied their power came from God and accused them of making pacts with the Devil.




Note: I have no problem whatsoever with educated people who are Wiccans or would describe themselves as witches. People can believe whatever they want but history should not be rewritten in order to maintain a fantasy.

You Can Find Conjure Tools In The Most Unlikely Places

You truly can find tools for conjure in the strangest of places. I picked up this rattle made in Kenya at the zoo, of all places. All you have to do is bless it and consecrate it and it's good to go. This will be my back up rattle as my primary rattle is one of my own creation.

                             

The rattle as a tool is used for the calling and communicating with spirits. When employed it serves as a sign or signal to the spirits that the individual is seeking communication. The attention of spirits can be captured this was just as the attention of the living can be.

One doesn't have to use a rattle. Some workers may prefer bells. Some may prefer pounding sticks. Some may prefer tapping a horn on the altar or tapping a staff on the ground. Some may forego tools of such nature and just clap their hands or shout to get the spirits attention. It's really up to the preference of the individual.

Hello Doc,

My review:

I had work done on my behalf from Doc a couple weeks ago. The situation seemed completely hopeless and I was heartbroken and out of options. My husband had moved out months prior and was looking for houses/jobs in another state to be with the girl he had left me for. We had already started divorce proceedings and retained lawyers.

It has been 2 weeks since I've hired Doc and already have my husband back. He completely broke it off with the other girl, and is trying to move back in with me. He is working to be the best husband and father and wants the divorce to stop. He is really trying to make amends and is completely ashamed for the pain he has caused.

Before I hired Doc I never really knew much about rootwork and wasn't sure if it was real. All skeptisism is completely gone. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. He replied to emails immediately and let me ask any and all questions I felt necessary. I highly recommend Doc and so thankful I found him.

We have some of the rootwork to manifest still and I can't wait to see the results of the rest.

Happy Indigenous People Day!

Monday, October 12, is Indigenous Peoples' Day, a.k.a. Native American Day. This is an alternative holiday that is celebrated as a substitute to Columbus Day. (Columbus didn't discover anything. The notion that a white, European man can come to a new continent where millions of people live and be promoted as it's discoverer is quite offensive. This is in addition to the horrors that Columbus unleashed upon the native population.)

Native American Day is a day for us to be reminded of the struggles of Native Americans as well as to reflect upon their proud heritage and achievements.

Several cities have already replaced Columbus Day with Indigenous People Day. If you live in an area where Columbus Day is still celebrated or at least acknowledged, do your part to show support for Native Americans by informing people about the alternative holiday. If you are currently employed and will be off of work at this time, please consider asking your employer to use Indigenous People Day instead of Columbus Day in any official communications.




On a related note, if you work with various Native American spirits, Monday would be an ideal day to honor them with special attention and reflection.
